PRESENTER: Angela Hurt Founder/CEO – Veracity Consulting, Inc.

Angela started her career in 1999 with a Kansas City-based consulting firm. She gained a broad understanding of prevalent, widely used technologies including operating systems, networking technologies, and development tools used to make business and systems analysts and project managers a success. From there, she transitioned to putting her skills to the test for national firms, soaking up the different operating models and company vccultures. As a result of that experience, she learned to examine and understand business problems from a holistic and systemic perspective.

Eventually, her desire to do something greater took over and she founded Veracity Consulting. Her vision was to build success through the thoughtful building of relationships and the conscientious understanding of the individual work environment. She wanted to bring people onto the Veracity team who share its values, which allows for the building of a collective mind of talented, dedicated, and committed professionals who focus on the right solutions to problems.

Angela encourages this same approach with Veracity’s client partners; she understands that clients are only as good as the teams that deliver their services. Angela insists that Veracity remain focused on providing premier IT professional services as a means to an end. She recognizes that technology is merely a tool—one that is only as effective as the person using it. To empower client partners to be a driving force in their industry, Veracity teams focus on understanding their business – to take the time to understand their values and how Veracity can help them meet their company objectives.

Over the last eight years, Angela has transformed Veracity from a homegrown company into a nationally performing firm with six areas of practice, which include Program Management, Data Services, Enterprise Architecture, Managed Infrastructure Solutions, Security, and Web Solutions. Angela attended Wichita State University for three years and finalized her Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems at Friends University in 1998.

Angela Hurt Named Co-Chairwoman of 2016 “Go Red for Women” Luncheon

Angi_Picture_smWeb

Angela Hurt is passionate about her family, her work, and women’s health. Now she will bring that passion to Kansas City’s 2016 Go Red for Women Luncheon.

It’s just one reason that Angela, CEO for Kansas City-based Veracity Consulting, will be serving as the Co-Chair of the 2016 Kansas City Go Red for Women Luncheon campaign with Community America Credit Union CEO, Lisa Ginter.

“A woman will always put everyone’s health before her own. In most cases, she is responsible for the healthcare decisions in her family. She will sacrifice herself to keep her children healthy, but will fail to take time to care for the one person that needs taking care of – herself! We need to take a different view. If we aren’t healthy, the train doesn’t keep going. Heart disease is the number one killer of women. Go Red for Women brings awareness to that,” Angela said.

Go Red for Women is an effort undertaken by the American Heart Association to raise awareness of the issue of women and heart 24664732_sa-8f007efbdisease. The initiative challenges women to know their risk for heart disease and take action to reduce their personal risk; it also provides them with the tools they need to lead a heart healthy life.

Hurt is a previous marathoner and is an active participant in sports, which she balances with community roles in Kansas City business organizations. As a busy woman, mother, and CEO, she gives this advice for staying healthy,  “Block out me time and make it your health hour.”

To learn more about women’s heart health and how you can get involved, visit  www.goredforwomen.org or the American Heart Association website. Join all of Team Veracity as they Go Red for Women in 2016!
